Thanksgiving was great. Family came all the way from Michigan to celebrate the holiday. All through that week, we patiently awaited the arrival of our little one. No such luck. Turns out the baby didn't want to make an early appearance.
My family (goofballs!)

So, my parents stayed after the holiday. We waited. And waited. And waited. My due date came and went without so much as one little contraction. Or so I thought. I went to the doctor's office 3 times in the week that the baby was due. I had 2 contractions but did not feel them. Looking back, wouldn't that have been grand?
So, we induced. Monday, December 7, we went in at 8:00 at night. The next morning at 9:00 am, we began the induction. I had been having contractions all night and did not feel anything. I had high hopes. Those high hopes were smashed to pieces around 2:00 the next day. Yowza!!! I received my epidural at that time. After that, I was gooooood. I labored for about 10 1/2 hours and we began pushing shortly before 8:00 pm on December 8. The baby was turned the wrong way (not breech, but his face was facing the wrong direction). I was turning every which way in that bed in order to avoid a c-section. At 9:31 pm, Drake Matthew Reynolds was born. He weighed 9 lbs even and was 21 1/2 inches long! I love my beautiful baby boy!! We are so excited for these new adventures we are about to embark on... :)
